Could have been very good October 7, 2008
This book is good because the writer is so good. Otherwise I am not too happy about the way everything is presented. Half of the book is concerned with creating databases with point and click with no code. So its geared towards beginners. The second half of the book gets into the code but never above beginner level. No great detail about Database Access Layers, which are used in all large companies and a compulsory "must know".
The second problem is the quality of the paper of my copy. It is terrible. The paper is actually yellow like a 1900 library book and the text is small. To make things worse the code is written in faint grey on this yellow tinted paper which makes it very hard to read.
The author is very good but the layout, depth and the paper print lets it down a lot.
