3 out of 5 stars Not a bad attempt   January 3, 2007

DotNetNuke really shows how Microsoft technology generally, ASP.NET in particular and open source can make a great combination. This book is a good resource but is really split imto three sections.
The first (rather long) is a run through history. Really interesting but not always relevant. The second is an administrator's guide, much of which is taken verbatim from the various on-line documentation, but with some occasional good extras. It's also an easier read. I was disapointed at the lack of some practical insight from real world examples.
The third section - as the "programmer to programmer" sub-title implies - jumps straight into heavy programming concepts. This was logically laid out but suffers from a lack of much in the way of examples and discussion of potential problems.
Overall, an interesting book packed with accessible documentation and information but all a bit too abstract.
