5 out of 5 stars Its Great   October 4, 2008
This is a great book and i recommend it to anyone who is doing AS OCR Biology the new specification from 2008 and i ordered it on 30-September and i got the book today (4-Oct)

5 out of 5 stars Amazing   October 10, 2007
This book is a must have for all those who are coming from an OCR double or triple award to As Biology. Even if this isn't your board, i highly recommend it if you want a book with clear defined explanations with lots of explained diagrams. However, this book lacks end of topic questions, so if you want a book with questions rather than a text book of explanation then look elsewhere.

4 out of 5 stars Essential for an A   May 31, 2004

Although this is not a particularly "good" book as all the OCR textbooks (Biol and Chem) leave big gaps in your knowledge, it is essential to get an A in the three modules it covers. So if you really are interested in the subject read around it and buy other books to complement this book. Having said this if you were able to recall this book word for word there is NOTHING you couldn't answer on the exam papers.

4 out of 5 stars A good book!   May 14, 2004

This AS textbook covers all the sections of the AS course with just the right amount of detail. However, as it was published in 2000 and the specification changed in 2002 it doesn't cover everything you need to know - but it only misses out a few things so it's not too much of a problem! I'd definitely recommend it!
