Amazon.co.uk Review Ages 6-9 One moonlit night, Mary's otherwise perfectly normal little brother suddenly starts floating above his bed. Mary is, of course, amazed: she has never seen anyone fly before and the responsibility that comes with knowing little Billy's secret presents its own set of problems... Dick King-Smith rarely disappoints, and Billy the Bird adds to his extraordinary repertoire of favourites (Babe, Dodos are Forever The Hodgeheg) with its magical elements taking young readers on an extraordinary adventure they will never forget. --Susan Harrison

| Customer Reviews:
a whimsical little tale, with just a pinch of magic! January 12, 2001 This is the charming story of Mary Bird, who discovers that her brother, Billy, has a hidden talent - he can fly! Having a little brother who can levitate is quite a responsibility for an eight year old though, and proves quite a challenge...Dick King Smith has produced yet another pleasing story for five to eight year olds and whilst 'Billy' is no Harry Potter, it is well worth a read
