4 out of 5 stars Interesting   October 29, 2003

This book will not tell you how to hypnotise people. This book will give you a good potted history of the subject, and McKenna's career up to date of publishing, which actually makes you like him a bit more, and makes him seem much more human.

The best part about this book is that it offers a number of techniques for relaxing, and rethinking problems. It may well change your life! Seriously, some of the techniques are very useful, and extremely interesting.

I would recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in McKenna or is interested in learning a bit more about hypnosis.

I must disagree with the other customer review on several points. 1. Only one induction is fully explained, yes. But it is a ubiquitous induction that explains the principles of it succinctly. 2. "Not nearly enough hypnosis"-it is packed with info on hypnosis. Finally 3. "About McKenna's experiences", yes, because he is imparting what he has learned over the years to the reader. It is an excellent book, as I myself learned how to hypnotise myself and others from this book.

Only 1 induction is explained fully. There is not enough 'hypnosis' in the book, it is mainly about his experience.
