Useful but over-enthusiastic February 22, 2008 We bought this book for our recent trip to Disney World Orlando (Feb 08). Overall the book was really useful with loads of practical info on each park plus other details (restaurants etc). The downside of the book is that we often did not agree with the author's judgments of rides, shows etc which could be over enthusiastic and led to some disappointments. This was particularly true of two events - firstly the 'Swim with Dolphins' experience at Discovery Cove: the book review led to us having high expectations but in the event 3 out of 4 of our party were very disappointed (too much like a production line and no opportunity to 'swim' as such). Secondly the expensive Cirque du Soleil show 'La Nouba' which we booked solely on the book's very high recommendation but which, although fun, was not a patch on the recent Cirque du Soleil tours of the UK. Overall the book was a useful aid but do not take the judgements as bible. You may not agree.

No question about it, this is the definitive guide for Orlando. I have been buying this guide for several years and it is always up to date with the latest tips and the frequent changes to the layout & selection of rides in the parks. Dont bother looking anywhere else. If this is your first trip dont leave the UK without it!!
A Crackin' Read August 2, 2007 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Having purchased the 2006 version for our first trip to Florida I cannot fault the information provided within this book. Simon mentions on how to beat the inevitable queues, and by following his recommendations, I can honestly say that our family of four did not wait for longer than 20 minutes for any ride (except once when the ride broke down - don't think we can blame Simon for that!).
The Brit tips are quite useful, and humerous in places, although I did find the "sponsor plugs" a little too much and took away the unbias stance I was expecting of this book.
I have recommned this book to work colleagues and friends without question and will be purchasing another copy for our next trip in 2008.
Great book - well worth every penny July 17, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a great book. It fills you in on everything you need to know from before booking to actually being there. Information is current and any changes/additions are updated on their website. It covers everything you need to know! Make sure that if you buy this you remember to pack it along with your shorts as it's invaluable. Will definitely buy the updates.
