This is a GREAT book. I loved the Little House series and I love this one. It is dfinately NOT boring and gives Rose's perspective on life.

This is another great book about Rose's life. Each book gets better and better. It is great to learn more and more about Laura and Almanzo too. I recommend this book for all ages.

5 out of 5 stars A wonderfully entertaining pageturner!   July 5, 1998

This book is absolutely terrific! Rose Wilder adjusts to life in Mansfield, away from her beloved Rocky Ridge Farm. She meets many new people, has exciting experiences, and also falls in love with her best friend Paul Cooley.

First off I would like to say that these books aren't just for children 9-12 yrs. I have been reading Laura Ingalls Wilder books for years and now read about Rose in the Ozarks. I believe that this story and all of the rest are excellent. I have just recently started yet another of Mr. McBride's books intitled, "New Dawn on Rocky Ridge" and it too is excellent. I have learned of Mr. McBride's death and hate it truly. I will continue to read these books and appreciate the work that goes into each.
