 One of the best books for upper primary kids ever! June 17, 2008
I first discovered this book when teaching Y7s in New Zealand and brought a copy back to the UK with me, read it to my old Y6 class who loved it and then to my current Y5s who got so into it many got it and the following books shipped in. A must buy for any confident upper primary reader, Haddix books are great, check out running out of time.

Among the Hidden is about a world in which a Population Law is strictly enforced- all families can only have two children. Third children, like Luke, can never be seen by anyone but their families. Luke has been in hiding all his life, but when he meets another third child who has more freedom then him, things begin to change. This was a good book, if not quite as good as Running Out of Time, another book by Margaret Haddix. Its easy to read and I'm looking forward to reading the sequel to this, Amoung the Imposters.
