Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Disappointing Journal after reading above reviews   December 5, 2006
6 out of 6 found this review helpful

Having read the above reviews I was disappointed with the format of this Journal. The copy I received was NOT spiral bound, making it difficult to keep open whilst writing in; also there was NO pocket for keeping mementos such as tickets and receipts as mentioned above. I feel I was misled by the previous two reviews as the presentation has obviously been changed. It is now quite a small, slim volume and would not take up much space in a rucksack. It does have some beautiful photos in and space for addresses, but quite honestly one could do just as well with a simple exercise book. It's not what I wanted to give as a gift to a travelling friend.

4 out of 5 stars A wonderful keepsake!   January 5, 2006

I bought this item for a friend who was off travelling (obviously!), and I was amazed at how beautiful it was. I shopped around for a journal, and am so glad that I bought this one. It has got little pockets for bits and pieces, which is a great idea! She loved it, and I believe is using it as we speak!

4 out of 5 stars Beautiful Travel Diary   December 12, 2001

This travel journal, published by the Royal Geographical Society, is beautifully laid out and has sensational photographs. It has all the usual features - places to fill in your itinerary, addresses and suchlike. It also has a list of international dialling codes, time differences and metric conversion tables.

This isn't the type of travel diary you'd give someone setting off on an ascent of Everest or an expedition to the source of the Amazon as it is quite heavy and rather too lovely for that. It is, though, the perfect diary to give someone who loves life's small luxuries and is setting off on an extended international holiday.
