Simply Brilliant December 19, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book cured my 19 year old brother of his juvenile arthritis in less than a year. He had been told he would be in a wheelchair in a few years, and he would never walk properly again. He was taking 8 ibuprofen a day at the time, and still couldn't walk more than a few meters.
He is now 100% recovered, has taken NO medication from the doctors (he refused based on the horrendous side effects), and as I write this he is back at work as a plasterer.
The doctor who told us that: "diet's are a load of cr*p", is now very interested indeed! He has been discharged from hospital, and he officially doesn't have juvenile arthritis any more!!
One note: you must follow the book EXACTLY. It's no good doing bits of it. Once we started doing it 100%, the results came within a matter of months.
This book just seemed to jump out at me March 27, 2005 64 out of 64 found this review helpful
My mother, who died in 1985, was riddled with rheumatoid arthritis and now my sisters, both older than me, have it and suffer such a lot of pain. I was hoping that perhaps it would skip me - but as time has gone on (I'm 55) I began to feel depressingly aware that, despite my efforts to have a good diet and avoid certain foods and keep a positive attitude, I had begun to feel the tell-tale signs of stiffness and some pain - not excruciating like my sisters - but enough to make me feel fairly depressed about it.However, my approach has always been to attempt to avoid this dreadful disease without resorting to drugs as it is quite clear from my sisters that they do not work long term and have caused so many side effects that I find it incredible that they still put so much faith in 'modern medicine'. Margaret Hills' book just seemed to jump out at me when I was browsing on Amazon looking for books related to arthritis - like many people, I was rather sceptical - but there is something about this book that is quite enchanting - it is sooo 'not in your face' - does not 'shout out at you' = does not require you you spend a fortune on wacky foods - it is just so simple and written with such dignity and humility - reading it is almost a spiritual experience in itself. Although I couldn't claim to have been in agonising pain before I started this diet - this was what I hoped to avoid - I was beginning to find things like getting out of bed in the morning quite difficult and painful - eg I had to walk around like a chimpanzee for a minute or so before straightening up and after driving for a while, getting out of the car was rather painful. Well - after about six weeks I now find that I just literally 'get out of bed' and after driving for 2 hours last week I just literally 'got out of the car' without walking 'like a chimp'. My husband, who had adopted a rather 'sceptical' attitude - has been pleasantly surprised and supportive - in fact the other day he (sheepishly - don't know why - perhaps it's a man thing!) asked me where the vinegar was. I have sent this book to one of my sisters who is in so much pain that she will try anything - and I am confident that if she follows it, she will find some releif. My other sister is convinced that the medical profession would know all about this if it worked! So we'll see. I would recommend this lovely book to anyone.

Long Term Inflammatory Arthritis Can be Cured. March 27, 2003 24 out of 24 found this review helpful
This book works. After 10 years of crippling arthritis I am cured and have been for 3 years. I have returned to post this review as a testamonial to the word "cure" which those doctors hate to talk about when it comes to arthritis. Well I'm sorry but they are wrong! Thousands of us brave enough to look outside of traditional evidence based medicine have found a cure. Open your mind and start to heal yourself today, through your diet.
This book works!! December 27, 2002 37 out of 37 found this review helpful
I was given this book at 18 years of age. I had been suffering from RA for the previous 7 years. At that point in my life I thought everything was hopeless, I'd never be able to work, no one would ever want to marry me and I would end up alone and in pain for the rest of my life.Needles to say - none of this happened. This book changed my life. At 18 I put put heart and soul into following the recommendations of this book. Within a couple of weeks I went off my meds (much to my md's disapproval mind you!) and have not looked back since. I have not had a flare up in 15 years (I am now 33) I no longer follow everything in the book however a few things I have kept up with till this day one of which is avoiding citric fruits and drinks (this is crucial for me) the other being Epsom salt baths every now and then. All I can say is buy this book - it will help you. Drs don't know everything - there is a cure for Arthritis - you can take my word for it. Eileen M Taylor
