Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A 'must have'   August 3, 2001

Written by a local, this book has the sort of comfortable feel about it that makes you think you know the city before you even arrive. The walking tours are invaluable, and the short history of the city is great background reading.

4 out of 5 stars A must have book for travel to the 'Windy City'   June 29, 2001

I have visited Chicago 3 times in the last 2 years and every time this book has been my trusty guide. I planned my first visit on the information that this book gave and it didn't let me down. My only criticism is that it doesn't cover the many museums that Chicago has to offer, on just about any subject you care to mention, in enough detail.

5 out of 5 stars Great guide to the Windy City!   July 16, 1999

This thoughtfully written and informative guide answers all the questions that a traveler would have before setting off for Chicago. In fact, it would benefit someone who has lived in Chicago for many years. The author's knowledge of what it is like to live in Chicago - as opposed to simply knowing something about the attractions, restaurants, hotels, etc. - sets this guide apart from others.
