Essential BPD Reading. July 18, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is an open account of the chaos that surrounds the life of BPD sufferers. From abusive childhood, tracking the growing disorder and internal conflict. For those that suffer with this illness, you gain comfort, for carers or loved ones that have this disorder, it will bring great insight and understanding. Sadly the authors story is not unique. What is unique is the fact that someone suffering so greatly, at such a young age has had the determination to write this book.
No One Knows Book Review July 4, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book was an interesting read. It was highly descriptive of someone suffering from Borderline Personality Disorder. It is helpful in seeing the symptoms of BPD such as black and white thinking, impulsiveness, suicidal gestures, self-harm, etc.
The introduction is rough around the edges, and hooked my attention. I wasn't expecting such a startling beginning. But, it really lets you know what the author went through and how much he struggled.
I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to read a case story of someone w/ the disorder. If you have been diagnosed with BPD, you will probably see some of yourself in the author's own life. If you are a family member, you might be a little shocked. There were one or two grammatical errors when reading the book. Nothing major. However, it was worth the money and worth my time. Finished it in a little over two hours. A good read.
A huge disappointment. May 1, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is a terrible read. It is boring and based on the assumption that his experiences are akin to everyone elses when this is just not the case. It belongs to the same old, same old category of books; I've had a terrible life and now I'll profit from it. Don't waste your money. All these previous reviews are from people who use Josh's forum and have therefore been cajoued into reviewing it. There are no genuine reviewers here. It is a joke.
An insight... March 14, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I read this book in one day as i recently found out i had BPD and have been researching it and i thought the experiences of someone else would help me better than all the text books could, i was wrong in that aspect as all the text books have been great but i could relate to this book and understood where the writer was trying to take us, i imagine that for someone without BPD they might find this story hard to comprehend but anyone living with the disorder can fully understand, i cried a few times, whever this was for feeling for josh and what he had to endure or whever it was because reading about what he went through hit home with me and i felt my own pain for my own issues.
All in all it's a good read and i am happy that josh is still around and is trying to make things different for himself as well as others, he is doing a good job and i wish him all the luck and good fortune in the world because he deserves it and may many good things come his way.
well done josh for being honest with us and yourself through this book and i hope many will find comfort in it and know that they are not alone and don't have to suffer alone, i am a member of BPDWORLD and it has done me wonders.

easy read February 27, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is written very simplistically which makes it an easy read but this simplicity detracts from the credibility. interesting book but not one to keep.
