This was just the book I'd been searching for! I've always loved the Merseybeat sound. This book details the history of Liverpool music.

I thought it was well written, but the Beatles story has been re-told endlessly and as the author admits there was little happening in Liverpool between the late 60s to the late 70s. Do we really need a whole chapter on Our Kid?

A great read! About time someone wrote this book!
Really is a lively and honest description about the City of Liverpool and the amazing wealth of talent to emerge ...its astonishing just how many musical talents have come out of the city... Paul really tells the story, in an easy read....wish there was a CD of music to go with it...now that would be something else! Pick up this book for any music fan and check out all the Liverpool music! Wonderful!
