Good for initial research April 15, 2008 After reading such positive reviews from others I decided to purchase this book. Yes it is a comprehensive guide on the whole emigration process. Yes it did get me to think about a few things I had not considered e.g. is it cheaper to take my fridge/freezer than purchase a new one there? However I was surprised that this book gave me no further insight into the NZ immigration process than what I had already learnt online, which either means I've done a pretty good job of my research or that this book isn't worth purchasing unless you are going to use it as a starting point.
A must fro any one wanting or thinking about emigrating to NZ March 21, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have read many books from Amazon with regards to emigrating to NZ. This is the only book that writes about the whole process from a real person perspective. Steve Horrell writes from thinking about emigrating right the way through to the end, even taking into account their pets!
A must for any one who wants all information about the emigration process.
Good Reference Book. March 11, 2008 I found his style to be very level-headed, the content detailed enough to answer questions and plenty of links for further research.
It was not a 'this is how we did it' self congratulatory book, but a very balanced reference document with occasional stories to provide the personal touch and to lighten the factual side.
Excellent colour photographs in centre to remind remind readers of the beauties of NZ,and why it is such a wonderful place!
Best guide for potential New Zealand immigrants, in my opinion.
A must for anyone thinking about it December 7, 2007 This is an excellent book and answered all the questions we had!! a must for anyone thinking about it.

This is the only book I have come across that sits you down and talks about the emigration process from start to finish. It talks you through the forms to complete, the various visa categories are explained, topics such as doctors, insurance, cars, schools, banks, property, renting, customs, taking pets, driving, weather - its all covered! It even includes a handy 'slang' glossary and checklist for the migrant - have I unlocked my DVD player, cashed in my loyalty cards, when is a good time to contact inland revenue - what about my child benefits? Have I deep cleaned everything that needs to be? What happens with your pension? Have you ordered that Skip??
My new bible! Thank you Steve.
She'll be right!
