5 out of 5 stars A Very great movie.   September 28, 2007
This is a very wonderful movie and unforgattabale as well, and it has many great things like good acting, cast, storyline, action, all from seventies and peformed fantastically. I think any one who love sci-fi storys or movies must have this as a reference.

But why they didnt realese it yet in Region 2 DVD? Im waiting for long time to have it in region 2 for better picture quality.

4 out of 5 stars Great Movie but....   May 19, 2005

....shame I had to buy it on VHS. A region 2 DVD would be most welcome because the picture and sound quality on this is poor. What a pity such a defining 70's sci-fi movie has been left to rot on video.

5 out of 5 stars It may be old but it's brilliant   April 29, 2004

Although this movie was filmed before I was born, I thoroughly enjoy itand recommend it to anyone, sci fi lover or not. It makes you realise howdifferent our world could be if there were but a few changes. Not everknowing your parents nor living past 30 seems almost alien to us, but tothem it is normal, and the natural order of things. The inclusion of T.S.Elliott's Old Possum Book Of Practical Cats made this film for me.Excellent!

3 out of 5 stars Five stars for a good Region 2 DVD release (When...?)   December 17, 2002

This previously much-maligned movie was made in the very last days of Time Machine style visual effects. They are quite crude but nice to look at, and the film is now more popular. The plot is never forgotten, and now that people are used to visual perfection, the obvious flaws are more welcome.

I own the Region 1 DVD which is a vast improvement on VHS but still not a very good transfer, although the commentary is interesting.

A good new Region 2 DVD would be great. The cast and director were almost all British!? Possibly it looks too dated to bring out with a fanfare, or else would make no money being sneaked out quietly.

5 out of 5 stars More to the story than just action   November 26, 2002

Logan's Run is a film version of the story of a futuristic environment that Renews (yeh,,, right) or recycles, people after 30 years. Logan (Michael York) is a sandman (similar to police), who enforces the rule and chases down people that run from Renew. He gets charged with finding the location that the runners go to called Sanctuary.
Some people who watch this like to be critics. They pick on costumes and actors etc. Well it is evident that they do not have the DVD version. There is a parallel soundtrack. It explains why things were designed the way that they were. It was easier to stick everyone in pantyhose than try to find monotone makeup for everyone like was done in "The Lathe of Heaven". The buttons on Peter Ustinov's close were pennies. Best of all, the Renew seine was shot upside down.
