5 out of 5 stars Bad Girls Series 3 - Brilliant   September 16, 2005
The writing is brilliant - I watch shows because of the writing -it dosen't matter who stars in the show - if the writing bores me within five minutes then forget it. This usually means I watch a lot of off-the-wall shows, much to my husband's dismay. Keep up the great work.

4 out of 5 stars BAD GIRLS 3   July 18, 2004

In this the third series of Bad Girls, things hot up even more for the inmates and officers of G Wing at HMP Larkhall. Former Wing Governor Helen Stewart is now the Head of the Lifer's Unit, giving her closer access to her intimate inmate, Nikki Wade. However in the first episode, Helen's new role is put to the test when declining top dog, Shell Dockley holds a wounded Jim Fenner to ransom in her cell. New Wing Governor Karen Betts is determined to get her lover Jim Fenner out before it is too late, however Stewart is determined to do the good deed and help a frightened Dockley too. In this series, the inmates and officers alike face more murder, new faces and of course more drugs, topped with riots! Prison Governor Simon Stubberfield is forced out when ex-troublemaker Shell Dockley escapes to Spain with Denny Blood. As gangland leader, Yvonne Atkins sees off her old man, she establishes herself as top dog, even more so when her authority is challenged by the arrival of the Peckham Boot Gang, headed by Maxi Pervis, keen to take the top dog status away from Atkins. Fenner is more than pleased to assist! As Helen Stewart takes over command of the entire prison (much to the dismay of Fenner), she sets out to join forces with Atkins to reak revenge on Fenner after his assault on her. As usual the situation spirals out of control and by the end of the series, Fenner is left reigning supreme, with Stewart resigned and Atkins fitted up for murder. Now Fenner and Maxi Pervis can take control, or so it seems. Much more gripping than any previous series, and so much more unrealistic!

5 out of 5 stars The Best   April 27, 2003

This is the best series ever. Series 3 gives you everything it contnues the clliffhanger with shell jim and the brocken bottol. There are new charachters for example po Gina rossie and 2 new cons charloot middleton and the biggest supprise the last 4 episodes contain Kate o Mara and her charachter ms V O Kane ends in a very wet situation and of cause the loud mouths the pecham boot gang [Maxi, Tina and al.] But the best story lines are in episodes 7 and 8 as we see the escape of the great Shell Dockley and Denny Blood lets just say when they got out poor old bodybag you have to feal sorry for her. In this series we see great performances from debra stephenson linda henry jack ellis and the others on g wing. In my oppion this is the best set of bad girls ever so hurry and buy it.

5 out of 5 stars Top dog series   August 26, 2002

The third series of Bad Girls sees a shift in format to more self-contained episodes with much snappier narrative development. The downside to this is some poor continuity and a sometimes uncommitted treatment of the characters; the upside is that it affords a fast-moving style and high turnover of 'guest' villains and prisoners, most notably Kate O'Mara's camp turn as Virginia O'Kane (if you can excuse the appaling treatment of the disability in prisons issue). Highlights include the excellent opening episode, the Boot Gang riot and the arrival of Charlotte Middleton. Linda Henry is fantastic as top dog Yvonne, and the series sags somewhere in the middle when she's absent for three episodes, but special mention is also due for Debra Stephenson and Simone Lahbib who continue to put in excellent performances. A style not to every fan's taste, but definitely an exciting and pacy series.
