Absolutely Charming. The kids loved it (and so did I). February 22, 2006 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
I bought this for the little ‘uns (honest!), I remembered it being good when I was small, I find some of the modern stuff a bit dull. Anyway, mine love it, they were transfixed. In fact the promise of one or two episodes as a treat results in instant good behaviour. Yes the picture quality is not digital, nor is the sound, but the boys don’t seem to mind. Worth every penny!

Sorry today's television producers, you just can't hold my toddler's attention like these programmes can. An episode or two of this series a day keeps her happy while I get on with a few chores or put my feet up and she 'Watches with Mother'. On a recent visit home to the UK we tried the Tweenies etc but the bright colours, the 'flash bang wallop' of it all left my toddler cold. These gentler paced productions are guaranteed to hold my toddler's attention and they are educational too, covering such diverse themes as potato printing, what machines do, getting lost, fun fairs, flying, sailing and the importance of learning to swim! Am buying two more copies, now, one for a friend and one for us as the first one has been played so much we just broke it. 30 something Mums and Dads will love this DVD second time around!
Just lovely June 22, 2005 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
Purchased this more for myself than the kids, but, happily they share their fathers good taste and love it. Its just lovely to sit and watch a programme that they can understand and ask questions about. Very entertaining, and they seem to learn from it as well? Cant recommend this highly enough.....now if only they'd bring Mr. Benn out on DVD!!!
Just lovely! January 10, 2005 19 out of 20 found this review helpful
I purchased this DVD for my children for Christmas and they have not stopped watching it since! You can forget all the hugely sucessful modern DVDs, my children just think Mary Mungo and Midge are great. They have not really commented on how old it all looks, they love the jerky images and Richard Baker's narration. For me, it is my childhood revisited and a real gem of British television. I am so glad this is available and that oneday perhaps, my childrens' children will see the adventures of the characters who live on the 8th floor of a block of flats with a window box. If you buy this DVD, you will not be disappointed.

Brilliant, fantastic and soooo sweet. I bought this pretending it was for the enjoyment of my children but infact it was for me and my hubby to sit and watch and we loved every minute of it. Classic TV at its best. Oh and my children thought it was brilliant.
