Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.co.uk Review
The final four episodes of Farscape's remarkable third season prove conclusively that this is the show's best and bravest year to date. Powerful issues of love, loyalty and sacrifice remain to be resolved, but after enduring a vertiginous emotional roller-coaster ride in recent episodes, Moya's reunited crew have no time to recuperate as Crichton determinedly calls them to arms for their sternest challenge yet. Scorpius and his Wormhole research must be destroyed at any price. Thus the scene is set to conclude the series' biggest story arc in a climactic confrontation aboard the Peacekeeper Command Carrier.

In "I-Yensch, You-Yensch" the plan is set in motion, as a canny Rygel bargains with Scorpius and gains his grudging respect during an unexpected and tragi-comic heist by two murderously incompetent criminals. Then the two-parter "Into the Lion's Den" takes everyone onto the Command Carrier, where Aeryn is confronted by her past, Crichton's subconscious finally releases its Wormhole secrets, and Crais persuades Talyn to do something extraordinarily noble. By the end, it's hard not to sympathise with poor put-upon Scorpius. In the final episode, "Dog with Two Bones", Moya's crew seem finally free to go their separate ways as a mysterious refugee helps Crichton confront his worst fears about Aeryn. Emotions reach a climax and remain tantalisingly unresolved at the cliffhanger ending.

On the DVD: Farscape, Volume 3.5 carries all the usual gallery of extra features--including deleted scenes, "Info-Pods" on Rygel, Crais and Scorpius, "Farscape Facts", trailers and stills--plus of course four uncut episodes. --Mark Walker

5 out of 5 stars Final Four Episodes a Thrill a Minute   September 25, 2002

Where can Farscape go after the episode Fractures? How about straight into the enemies camp.

The four set DVD opens with "I Yensch, You Yensch" where we find the resent diplomat Rygel, with D'Argo along for muscle, meeting Scorpius and Braca to hammer out details for the crew to go onto the command carrier. There is a side plot with the foursome being held hostage by some blue monkey guys, but some really great interaction between Scorpius and Rygel. In the "B" story Crichton, Aeryn and Crais must face the facts that young Talyn is seriously unstable and must be shutdown. A great tag line between Crichton and Aeryn which reflects both of their side of the pain they are facing.

The series really hits it stride with Into the Lions Den Part 1 and 2 as Moya's crew goes to the PK command carrier. Great interplay between Crichton and Scorpis and we also see Crais and Aeryn facing people from their past on the command carrier. It is our first meeting with Commandent Grayza and John learns about Scorpy's past. The ending is big-screen quality effects with a sense of loss and no accomplishment filtering through the ending.

It would seem the end of season three, but the Farscape gang has one heck of a cliffhanger in store with "Dog With Two Bones." The crew is preparing to go their seperate ways, but must complete a task before they can. Meanwhile, Crichton dreams of taking Aeryn to earth, and even sees them married. But as usual it is never what he wants or what it seems. It is our first meeting with The Old Woman and also the grand goodbye between Aeryn and Crichton, with a flip to the hands of fate to decide their actions. The end leaves Crichton as well as the audience floating.

Overall a smashing ending to a angst filled season three. I highly recommend this dvd, if for nothing else, the 10 minutes of deleted scenes from "Dog With Two Bones."
