Amazon.co.uk Review Trigger Happy TV 3 is another compilation from the cult late night Channel 4 comedy that turbo-charged the old Candid Camera format with a cool rock soundtrack for the MTV generation. While the show itself could become repetitive, the 42 minutes of highlights distilled into the main feature here are frequently hilarious. See public prankster Dom Joly wrestle a giant badger in the woods, enjoy the office populated entirely by people dressed as bears and collapse with laugher at the most surreal estate agent scenario in the world. From a terribly insecure policeman to the street guide who doesn't know the location of anything, Joly's nerve at pulling off some of these gags is breathtaking. The supporting feature is a half-hour spoof biography of Joly made to introduce Trigger Happy TV to American audiences. Deadpan in the extreme, it sends up the fly-on-the-wall genre and celebrity interview with uncomfortably accurate wit. That's not the end, because the presentation makes the line between programme and extras largely irrelevant, so read on to see what else is... On the DVD: Trigger Happy TV 3 can simply be played straight through so that everything on the disc makes a 90-minute pseudo feature, or individual sections can be selected as extras. There are 14 mostly worthwhile unseen clips, three "Bad Rabbit Jokes" (and they are bad), the three "Worst Ideas Ever" (they are), "Brushes with the Law" (which was bound to happen with such stunts as White Van Man's road rage), and four hugely entertaining previously unseen Celebrity Interviews with Hanif Kureishi, Bret Easton Ellis, Uri Geller and Alan Titchmarsh. The commentary track by Joly and Sam Cadman rambles with entertaining irrelevance from a deaf George Martin producing their recording at Studio 2, Abbey Road, to rather more believable recollections of being arrested in Belgium. --Gary S Dalkin

COMEDY SEX GOD FUNNIEST MAN IN WORLD December 21, 2003 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Trigger Happy TV is the best and funniest comedy ever shown on tv. I first saw it in the Sates where it is very popular with all my college friends. Since moving her to the Uk I have seen all of them and this is my favourite DVD as it also has a spoof documentary on the sexy star Dom Joly. All the jokes are brilliantly odd, with a great soundtrack and inspired moments of brilliance. IF YOU HAVEN'T EVER SEEN TRIGGER HAPPY THEN BUY THIS NOW YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED.
Brilliantly conceived, Trigger Happy goes out with a bang October 24, 2003 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Dom Joly is back for the last time in the best hidden camera show on the telly. The last (and best) two episodes of Trigger Happy released some time last year as Christmas specials are put together, along with a brilliant mockumentary about the man behind the genius that is Dominic Brankem-Joly. In the two episodes, new and old characters are included in the cream of the Trigger Happy trilogy. How Joly can keep a straight face when setting up these people (mainly tourists), I'll never know. If you've never seen TH, then it's basically a sketch show, where Joly dons various guises to set up members of the public in and around London. My personal favourite scene is where Joly traps a woman in a hedge maze but there is plenty of other stuff to amuse. 'Being Dom Joly' is the next feature on the DVD. In a wonderfully dry mockumentary, Dom talks about his life and allows a camera crew to follow him round his day-to-day existence as an overnight sensation. But it seems that the footage has been 'edited' in such a way that just exposes him as a selfish, thoughtless... well... pig (refusing to do a school raffle for less than 100). Attention to detail is very important when watching this! (E.g. note the sniper approaching from behind while Dom talks about jealousy that his 'friends' may have about his new-found fame.) Delightfully funny, a real pleasure to watch.
Dom Joly is God March 26, 2003 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I love Trigger Happy TV so much. I watched it religiously when it was on TV. Series 3 is hilarious, so this DVD is well worth buying if you wanna have a laugh. I know not many people can understand these Hidden Camera shows, thinking they're dumb and stuff, but this is truely wonderful. I insist that you go buy it now! Maybe its just the fun of laughing at random, unexpecting people that makes Trigger Happy so neat, haha! My point is, I haven't laughed so hard at anything else. Dom Joly is my God!
PURE GENIUS January 6, 2003 8 out of 17 found this review helpful
Trigger happy Tv 3 contains the last two THTV episodes ever which were released as xmas specials. They are, quite simply, brilliant and mark a fitting end to this genius laden series. The DVD also contains a wonderfully dry and funny mockumnetary made by Dom Joly on himself which shows that there is loads to come from this comedian. Packed with loads of extras this is a must-have. if you have ever seen Trigger happy this is essential, if you haven't then it's totally essential. BUY THIS NOW!!!!!!!!
Dissapointing, but still of a high quality. January 4, 2003 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
Basically, as there hasn't been a third series, the clips on this video are taken from the two christmas special episodes. Although the clips are of the usual high quality, with the different taste in comedy, they do become repetitive due to the lack of them. These episodes were both broadcast just before christmas this year(2002), and last year(2001), and therefore, if you have them taped, I wouldn't reccomend purchasing the video. The benefits of the video are the 14 unseen clips, which are just as funny as the normal clips, and I can't see why they weren't broadcast. The other extra on the video is the spoof documentary about Dom Joly, but again, this was broadcast on TV, and isn't really that funny. If you have videos one and two, then you may aswell buy this, but otherwise don't buy it, or buy the DVD.
