Amazon.co.uk Review Fans of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. felt doubly blessed in 1965. Not only did its second series debut in colour, but there was also the first of several spin-off movies. The Spy with My Face thrilled audiences with "The August Affair", a plot to replace Napoleon Solo (Robert Vaughn) with a look-alike. The movie's only disappointment in this golden year for the show was the inexplicable absence of its catchy theme tune. By the third series the show had strayed too far into the campness of Batman, which also started in 1966. One Spy Too Many demonstrated the rush to cash-in on success before the bubble burst. This second theatrical release actually consists of two TV episodes, and played on US small screens first. This then became the pattern for the later movies, although what played where on international TV in episodic fashion becomes extremely complicated. The Karate Killers features Joan Crawford, Herbert Lom and Telly Savalas in a search for a secret formula (from Series 3). The Helicopter Spies pits Solo and Kuryakin (David McCallum) against two criminal masterminds (culled from Series 4). How to Steal the World is very much a finale, in that it comes from the very last episode. It rather shows, too, with only Leslie Nielsen looking serious about his art. It's no top secret that The Man from U.N.C.L.E.'s finest hours came early; the same certainly goes for these movies. Nevertheless, the gadgets are always great, the girls easy on the eye and the two leads superb in their chemistry together. On the DVD: The Man From U.N.C.L.E. has survived pretty well for its DVD incarnation. Although there's some grain and artefacts evident in the print, colours are bright and the image is generally sharp. Some work has gone into providing fun fan material, but unfortunately it's all via DVD-ROM and in PDF format. The eight text documents cover series origins, merchandise, the fans themselves and, of course, the movies featured in this box set. --Paul Tonks

Another wonderful trip back to the past! October 18, 2007 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
Suspend all disbelief and settle back for another ride into the past! This is another wonderful series of films, ready for us to enjoy.
Don't expect to be convinced by it, just as you don't expect to be convinced by James Bond, Harrison Ford and by a great many more 'up-to-date' films and DVDs. just relax and enjoy it! The characters are every bit as good as you will remember from the past, and the adventures they get into are FUN! Forget about the fact that it seems dated - just enjoy the history, the drama and the characters! (My favourite still has to be Kuryakin - no wonder I'm also addicted to NCIS! LOL!).
Enjoy the naivety of it all, and relax!!! This is a set well worth buying (especailly at this price!)
I LOVED it and looked forwards to watching another 'episode' in the series of films. i just wish they would release some of the missing films and more episodes as well.

Frankly I am rather Disappointed with this box Set! ,As it Is missing 3 of the Films! The Missing Films Are- As Follows- To Trap A Spy- which also stars Luciana Paluzzi, (She Played Fiona In Thunderball) How could they not include this in box Set! The Spy In The Green Hat! with Janet Leigh & Jack Palance, this is the the one with the retired Gangsters reliving their bootleg days, A brilliant send up, Rather Disappointing not to be released! One of Our Spies Is Missing, This is the one where Ilya is trailing Cats! To see who is stealing them! Anyway I wont say anything about the films included apart from- Karate Killers -This stars Kim Darby, who starred alongside John Wayne in True Grit! There is no Booklet In The Box Set!, This would of been nice ,telling something of each film, other stars in them & what else they have been in, Lets Hope They Release another Box Set which Has the 3 Missing Films In!!... I have to see my U.N.C.L.E. Now!
great romp down memory lane March 2, 2004 17 out of 30 found this review helpful
Illya Kuriakin and Napoleon Solo were the biggest fad to hit since the Beatles. Their phone was PL3-6908 - and the telly company in New was flooded with calls to this bogus number. A take off on the Bond crazy, each week that had adventures(sadly dated now) but great fun then. So this will be for the baby boomers that loved this great 60's spy spoof. Napoleon and Illya were agents of U*N*C*L*E* and they battled T*H*R*U*S*H*. It was all done very tongue-through-cheek, so it was camp basically. But for all those baby boomers that treasures this series, this is a great addition to your library. 5 full length U*N*C*L*E* are super fun

These 5 feature length movies are a wonderful box set tribute to a classic spy show with 2 very talented actors.Video and audio quality is par for the course - lets face it they are not going to do a massive restoration job on tv stuff - but if you were ever a fan of Napolean and Illya - you want these discs. 7.5 hours of pure nostalgia.
