The Great Rollercoaster Ride April 28, 2008 This is the must have dvd for any fantasy adventure fan. The characters show extensive range for emotions such as despair, anger, envy, etc. but there are numerous cameos from iconic heroes and villains. It has better animation than Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight
Final episode info February 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These was a great series and managed to hold its awe for me even thru adulthood. For the record the final episode was written, but the show was cancelled before it was completed. The final episode does show the heroes getting home, and the true identity of Venger, and the story behind all the inhabatants of The relam. There is a website taht allows you to reads the last episode somewhere online.
Dungeons and Dragons revamp December 3, 2007 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
We have seen it with Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles.
But why dont companies revamp some of the classic tv shows. Stuff like Dungeons and Dragons and He-Man.
The stories are left quite open, in the sense its not one dimensional like Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles isnt.
I really think it should be redone and made really cool for the children to see our cool legend tv.
The Best 80's Cartoon August 22, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I think that the weekly American cartoon went through something of a golden age back in the 80's (this is quite apart from the "actual" golden age of cartoons which was of course in the 1930's and 40's) and for me Dungeons and Dragons was the absolute pinnacle. I would like to think that my oppinion is formed on more than just nostalgia but part of the nostagia value in this case is that there are episodes with genuine emotional value such as "The Girl Who Dreamed Tomorrow". The scene when Bobby the Barbarian has to carry his sweetheart to the portal home yet stays in the "Realm" himself to help his friends is touching and I remember got me all choked when I was little and watching it back today has the same effect. (It's also nice to think that I'm watching the greatest episode of the greatest cartoon of the 80's!)
I doubt there will ever be a show like this again that in one instance has a wonderfully reliable formula and dependable characters and on the other hand hits us with scenes that are supprisingly moving. ...Also I don't really give a stuff that the kids never actually made it back home because that fact only adds to the intrigue.
Never to return May 6, 2007 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
This series takes you to a realm where mythical monsters rule the skies and Venger rule the land.
Dungeons and Dragons come from bygone age where cartoons weren't packed with flashy effects and big advancements of style and technolgy this was all done by hand and well drawn it was removed from production before it could be finished and removed from the TV.
I feel the series needs a rebirth just to give us as ending Transformers have had rebirth after rebirth Dungeons and Dragons needs in more than any other 80's series any producer out there looking for a project Dungeons and Dragons needs you.
Buy this set and see fro yourself what I am talking about 80's carttons are the best ever.
