Amazon.co.uk Review
Horror series Supernatural delivers some of the most satisfying small-screen scares in recent memory. The premise is deceptively simple: brothers Sam and Dean (Jared Padalecki from Gilmore Girls and Jensen Ackles) travel the darker corners of the American landscape in search of their father, who's gone missing while hunting the malevolent forces that lead to the death of their mother. In the course of their search, the siblings encounter a host of otherworldly creatures, including vampires, ghosts and witches, as well as such distinctly American phenomena as the urban-legend favourite the Hook, monsters from Native American mythology and fearful figures from well-known children's games. Supernatural's integration of elements from American pop culture and folklore, combined with its skilled cast and crew (creator/co-writer Erik Kripke delivered 2005's Boogeyman, while director/executive producer David Nutter is a veteran of The X-Files and Millennium), and better-than-average attempts at atmosphere and suspense place the series well above the other spookshow programs that arrived on TV screens at about the same time (Invasion, Night Stalker), and should hold considerable appeal for fans of frightful fare. The six-disc set contains all episodes of the second season, with commentaries, making-of documentaries, a brace of unaired scenes and a gag reel completing the set. --Paul Gaita

5 out of 5 stars A brilliant and under rated series   August 21, 2008
This is a brilliant series. It has wonderful acting, writing, directing, special effects and music. It blends horror, comedy, emotion, family drama, action, mystery and suspense perfectly. I would recommend this as it is an excellent drama series which has been missed by a lot of people because of the lack of publicity compared with other shows. This is the best programme on TV!

2 out of 5 stars Dumb and Dumber   August 19, 2008

If the first season was dumb this is dumber! The first season was just dumb fun but it kinda got away with it and at some points of season one i did enjoy it, now unfortunatly we have the second season and things only get worse. Yes it doesnt feel as cheap, it looks like they had a budget of at least $3000 this season lol but the story lines get worse and worse. Think of every horror movie you have ever seen and its here the writers of supernatural seem to have no original ideas so rip off horror movie after horror movie its a real let down it would be funny if it wasnt so pathetic. I would advise anyone who is thinking of buying this to see sense,go and buy the heroes or angel boxsets as they are fantastic programs well worth your money

I loved season one of Supernatural, but having watched season two now, I have to say the second season was better by far! Also, this set has bonus features!

A very good series , if you thought series 1 was potent, this is a lot better. A great show as now itv is showing series 3 and not really following it as i will wait for to come out on dvd. Amazing i never really liked these type of programmes, to those who don't like this type of tv give it a try and you may never know.
