1 out of 5 stars ZIMMER AND THE FRAMES   October 1, 2008
After the dull effort of the Live Over Europe CD that came out last year I decided to buy this DVD to see if it would be better than the CD. Well no and I am sorry to say that Genesis have past their sell by date. If they carry on they should call themselves Zimmer and The Frames. Big mistake not involving Ray Wilson who gave Genesis an edge with Calling All Stations. I also hate the concert on 2 DVDs why not put the extras on disc 2 and have the full concert on one disc. Although thinking about it I'm sure it's on 2 discs so that the viewer can have a sleep. The documentary DVD is a bit better but not much. It's a real shame that a group with such an impressive back catalogue should end up like rejects from the X-Factor. The tour should have been The Turn It Off Again Tour as they managed to turn a lot of fans away with such a series of weak shows. I had been a fan of Genesis for 30 years until they came out with this mess & the CD set. If they ever do reform again I hope they have the sense to re-hire Ray Wilson and not Phil Collins again as he past his sell by date in the early 1990s. If you want to see a true Genesis show on DVD try Live At Wembley Stadium. I have rated this a 1 star as I can't rate it any lower

2 out of 5 stars The fun is over - nothing more to say   September 12, 2008

I finally bought this because I saw the concert and waiting for a blu-ray edition is apparently waiting for nothing and indeed it is waiting for nothing. The dvd reflects completely the show I saw being : dull, boring, musicians who do the job because they have to , and mind you I was a super-genesis-fan. It hurts me to say that I found more musical connection with a copy group ( The musical box ). At least that band was capable of raising the little hairs on my arms with performances of suppers ready or other stuff of the Selling England-show.And that is what music is all about, not the big screens and stages , but the music . Not surprised they stop now. Best concert I saw of them was at Brussels in 1982. Grumpy old men....yeah.

5 out of 5 stars Why didnt they do the Uk concerts on DVD?   September 5, 2008
I was at the Manchester show & I was hoping just like the CD that the DVD may have had some of the other concerts on not just Rome, like Phil Collins own stuff I went to see him in Manchester & he does a recording of the show in Paris? Whats wrong with us lot in the UK, apart from the opening shots & a couple more panning around the audience you could hardly tell it was in Rome!

The show was great & I was just hoping I could have seen something of the show I was actually at on TV, seeing that being a Man Utd fan as well watching Genesis at Old Trafford was about as good as it gets for me!!!!!!!!!!

This must be a Genesis-cover band! Genesis did their last touring in 1977 and has not been active since. Although three of these guy look like aged versions of Phil, Mike and Tony. Is it rubber mask technology? I`d rather admire the stage-sets of "The Musical Box", but the "Elvis-clone-factor" is still not bearable in any context. Who`s that horrible guitar player? Doesn`t sound or look like Steve Hackett at all.........

.....nothing is quite what it seems....................
