Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.co.uk Review
Patsy Palmer's Club Workout is upbeat, it's got a strong beat, and beats most exercise videos for sheer fun. It's filmed in a nightclub where Patsy and her trainer, Niki Wibrow, strut their stuff on the stage to the sounds of get-up-and-dance chart music. "Remember, do what you can and have a laugh", is Patsy's motto. She explains that gyms and diets are not for her, and that dancing is the only exercise she enjoys, especially after she decided to lose a stone in weight and tone up after the birth of her new baby. Enter Niki Wibrow, a pretty dynamic personal fitness trainer, who combines dance moves with exercise. By following the workout routines, Patsy has shed the excess weight, including two inches off her hips, all without dieting.

After the warm-up section, the routines--entitled "Crazy Legs", "Slap Happy" and "Jump 'N' Scream"--grow more lively. The combination of Niki's encouragement to "Come on guys", and the irresistible music propels you along. The routines are fairly easy to follow, and none of the exercises is either impossible or dangerous. Another plus is that the workout transfers well to a small space, so it easily can be done in your bedroom or living room. Patsy Palmer is not a super fitness freak. She's more like the regular girl next door who might be dancing around her handbag. There's a feel-good factor to the video. You get the impression Patsy's genuinely enjoying it, and really having a good laugh. The last time many of us saw Patsy Palmer on the small screen, she was sobbing in EastEnders. It's nice to see that actually she's one of the world's great gigglers. --Joan Byrne

3 out of 5 stars Fun but tedious workout   January 27, 2006

I bought this video from Amazon in the summer of '05 and have been alternating weekly with another one. I found this a fun workout with some great music, however after a few go's it does get a little tedious. The singing from Patsy and her trainer Nicky's voice really started to annoy me. The dance routines are good for toning leg and stomach muscles. However, there are no stretches in the warm up and no cool down session which does concern me a little. If you are already a regular user of workout videos I would recommend this as a change to normality and a bit of fun.

4 out of 5 stars A fun workout i'd call it, really does get u in a sweat!   February 28, 2005

I remember asking my friend if she had any workout videos she could lend me, she lent me this one and that was over a year ago.. i kinda never gave it back. After watching it, i just really got into the moves and kept to a routine of doing it a few times a week, and having lost some pounds yet got really toned, it was just hard to give it back. i knew that if i did i'd easily put on weight and i'd really miss doing this workout.

When i first watched this video and tried out the moves, i must admit i did find it a little tricky, having to learn the moves by watching what she does, rather than her telling you what to do. But trust me after a few times of doing it, you'll definitely get the hang of it! obviously if after watching it once u think its too hard u won't want to do it anymore, but thats what i thought, then after watching it a second, third n forth time i just couldn't let go of this video. its so addictive and now its as easy as abc! which is great when you want to lose weight.

Patsy's dance instructor, is quite annoying, when she sings to the chorus but its funny at the same time watching the both of them. They really do make you laugh and if you stick to the whole workout including the warm up and toning you sure will lose weight. It really gets you jumping, hot and sweaty, it gets to the point u just want to fall on the floor, but stick to it, the results are great.

4 out of 5 stars Zoe Lucker stole Patsy's trainer!!   September 18, 2004

How great to see a vid where the famous person doesn't look really good. Patsy really looks like a real woman who just had a baby on this vid and I found it really encouraging.
The warm up and dance (cardio) section is really good, but Patsy should stop singing...she can't and it's annoying. But you work off the calories and burn fat and that's the most important thing and the reason you bought the vid in the first place.
However the toning section is really poor. It's just ab work on a stupid ball, which I did not have.
Overall a great vid, with a really great trainer, which Zoe Lucker quite wisely has decided to nick.

3 out of 5 stars Good workout but some negatives   March 7, 2004

This is a good video and at the end you do feel as if you've done a good workout, you're constantly moving. Although they are fairly simple moves it takes a while to get the hang of it as the camera angle moves constantly so you can't always see what the feet are supposed to be doing. If you want to concentrate on getting rid of the tummy it's not so good, there isn't enough time spent on this and what is done is just sit ups which I found quite boring.
You certainly break a sweat and you can feel your muscles being used in the legs and arms but there's not enough concentration on the abdominals which was my main aim!

I really enjoyed this workout. The music is funky and the dance moves are easy to grasp and perform. The direction is excellent and you're given the moves well enough in advance to stop you from tripping over yourself.

The only slightly annoying thing is Patsy's singing. But if you're singing along too, then you hardly notice it!
