Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.co.uk Review
The seventh series of Buffy the Vampire Slayer begins with a mystery: someone is murdering teenage girls all over the world and something is trying hard to drive Spike mad. Buffy is considerably more cheerful in these episodes than we have seen her during the previous year as she trains Dawn and gets a job as student counsellor at the newly rebuilt Sunnydale High. Willow is recovering from the magical addiction which almost led her to destroy the world, but all is not yet well with her, or with Anya, who has returned to being a Vengeance demon in "Same Time, Same Place" and "Selfless", and both women are haunted by their decisions.

Haunting of a different kind comes in the excellent "Conversations with Dead People" (one of the show's most terrifying episodes ever) where a mysterious song is making Spike kill again in spite of his soul and his chip. Giles turns up in "Bring on the Night" and Buffy has to fight one of the deadliest vampires of her career in "Showtime". In "Potential" Dawn faces a fundamental reassessment of her purpose in life. This is a spectacular start to Buffy's last year as the consequences of earlier actions unfold in a string of surprises and shocks punctuated as always by some of the funniest lines on television. --Roz Kaveney

All of the buffys have been great and this season is no exception. It's brilliant and enjoyable for many different types of people. I love it!!

5 out of 5 stars One of the Strongest Season Goes out with a Bang!   November 2, 2003

Expectations for this season of Buffy may have been different to what fans recieved from Joss Whedon, however it far exceeded those expectations making for a brilliant opening to season 7.

Watch as buffy and the scoobies develop into adulthood. In the first half of this season they ask themselves who they are, in the second half they are more well established in their personas.

Stand out episodes include "Same Time Same Place" (in which Willow returns to Sunnydale only to find she can't see the scoobies and they can't see her, even though they are at the same place at the same time!), and "Conversations With Dead People" (which is probably best described as the "Once more with feeling", or "hush" episode of the season; Buffy talks with a vamp, willow experiences a haunting, and willow gets a message from the grave). The only bad part of this episode, and season, was it was the only episode in buffy history to have Xander abscent.

What a great season! Buy this on video or wait for the dvd (for those who have this option) - it's more than worth the buy.

3 out of 5 stars missing episode!   October 30, 2003

I recently bought the 1st part of series 7 on video. On the whole this is fantastic although it is probably overall my least favourite series of BTVS. HOWEVER! I have an episode missing... it skips straight from 'Bring on the Night' to 'Potential', missing out 'Showtime'. Is my version a one-off? Be careful when you buy and make sure you check before handing over any money!

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant   September 28, 2003

I cant believe that this is the last season of Buffy. Why ? at least this box set is truly spectacular. Alyson Hannigon is the best in this season, she is coping with her magic addiction and she turns out some brilliant performenses, shes brilliant in conversations with dead people, when she has to cope with the idea that Tara is up there watching her it really made me cry.
I also think that Michelle Transberg's charecter has improved greatly, she's also brilliant in Conversations with dead people, she has to cope with the idea that her mum is being attacked by a demon. When Joyce does appear she stirs thing up for her though.

My faviourite episodes are: Conversations with dead people
Showtime
Bring on the night
lessons
and him

All the cast and crew deserve a pat on the back for their work here
